Meet Gaby

I am a coach and consultant specializing in learning, culture, and organizational development.  I bring over 17 years of broad experience in HR, learning & development, coaching and consulting, gained through a unique combination of in-house corporate, non-profit, and tech start-up experience, as well as my independent coaching and consulting practice.

My BA in cultural anthropology at McGill University inspired a lifelong fascination with different perspectives and worldviews. I entered the workforce for a few years, before embarking on my MBA to formally study the organizational life I was experiencing.  At the Schulich School of Business, I gained a foundational business education, while specializing in Organizational Behaviour. I spent the next nine years at CIBC in a variety of domains of Human Resources gaining a deeper appreciation of the complexities inherent in the people-side of business.

In 2012, I was introduced to leadership coaching, which changed the trajectory of my career. I pursued coach training and certification, followed by a consistent stream of professional development courses related to adult learning, growth and development.

For the past seven years, I've been engrossed in learning and teaching about the neuroscience of emotions, behaviour and change - and how we can harness this understanding to the benefit of relationships, both within and outside the workplace.

After a year spent as an independent coach in 2014, I was drawn to the energy, innovation and social impact of Toronto's MaRS Discovery District, where I spent over five years in HR & learning leadership roles. Following that, I served as Chief People Officer at Inkblot Therapy, a virtual mental-health company.   In 2020, I returned to independant coaching, training and consulting by launching Move Forward.

On a part-time basis, I currently serve as an Executive-in-Residence at the Ryerson Venture Zone, a technology start-up incubator. I am a keen advocate for building deliberately developmental organizations, and love documentaries, podcasts and nature-based travel.
